With the explosion taking place early morning, no human casualties have been reported, but the blast damaged several windows and doors.

No one has taken responsibility for the explosion till now. Earlier, another explosion had occurred at the college some weeks ago.

The college has been under controversy since its establishment.

Meanwhile, a former top army brass has suggested that the verified Maoist People’s Liberation Army (PLA) should immediately be brought under the purview of the Ministry for Peace and Reconstruction as a separate security force until the Constituent Assembly election.

“Only after this happens, we can finalize as to when and how can PLA be integrated (into the Nepal Army),” Lt General Chitra Bahadur Gurung (Rtd) said addressing a program titled ‘Integration of Maoist combatants in the Nepal Army’ organized by the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Foundation in the capital Friday.

Gurung said that since two parallel armies are still in place even after the ending of the conflict, it has only made “the situation more complex”. He also insisted that there was urgent need to mainstream the security forces of both sides if the elections area to take place on time.

“The state already has security forces numbering 185,000 and adjusting another 20,000 would not be a difficult task,” Gurung said.
