Tendulkar climbs up in ICC Rankings

Dubai : Despite India losing the second Test to Australia in Sydney Sunday, Sachin Tendulkar climbed up to the 13th position in the International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings for batsmen but captain Anil Kumble slipped two places.

Tendulkar, the best placed Indian, has 702 rating points while Australian Mike Hussey became the 24th batsman in history to reach 900 points the rankings. Hussey is placed fourth with exactly 90.

India’s V.V.S. Laxman gained three places in the batting rankings and is now back into the top 20, at the 18th position while Rahul Dravid slipped one place to 15th with 693 points.

Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara heads the batsmen’s list with 933 rating points.

In bowling, Kumble slipped two places to sixth (761) while Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan continues to lead the chart with 907 points.
