Moradabad: A board for madrasas, on the pattern of CBSE, is in the offing. At those madrasas both religious and secular education will be offered up to 12th standard. This was disclosed by the chairman of the National Minority Education Commission, Justice M.S.A. Siddiqui. Talking to journalists in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, where he had come to attend a program at Muslim Girls’ Degree College, he said the Commission has recommended to the government to form Central Madrasa Board on the pattern of CBSE. The government is seriously contemplating over it, he maintained. He said the Commission wants that the Board be formed through a parliamentary act and no government nominee should be a member of the Board, whereas Madrasas should be completely free for choosing to join or otherwise.
