Premier, Canadian Senate speaker discuss future cooperation

Sana’a : Prime Minister Ali Mujawar held talks here on Sunday with the Canadian Senate speaker Noel Kinsella over the Yemeni-Canadian future cooperation, particularity in the economic, investment, environmental, educational, training and energy fields.

They also dealt with the standing relations between the Yemeni Shoura Council and Canadian Senate as well as the governmental keenness on strengthening such ties.

The Premier briefed the Canadian delegation on the social, economic and political developments, the continuous progress of the Yemeni democratic experience and the current trends to carry out the constitutional amendments that aims at improving the political system in the country.

He made reference to the achieved steps in the economic and administrative reform program and its positive impacts on the economic situation and social development in Yemen.

Mujawar hailed the incessant improvement of the Yemeni-Canadian ties in the political and investment fields, pinning hopes that this visit would open up a new window for joint actions between the two countries.

He indicated to the Yemeni eagerness to benefit from the Canadian technological experience in the domain of power generation.

For his part, Kinsella made clear that his visit to Yemen aims to develop the friendship relations between Yemeni and Canadian peoples, expressing his satisfaction with the progress of investment activities of Canadian Nexen Petroleum company.

He praised Yemen’s democracy experience, saying “we like the way that Yemen adopts to improve the pluralism democratic system despite its difficult circumstances”.
