Local NTV quoted Guler as saying that the explosion took place in a five-story business center in Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul, adding that two floors of the five-story industrial complex collapsed during the explosion.

Rescue teams had uncovered 10 bodies from the debris and they were still working at the site as some people were still under the rubble, according to Guler.

Seven people died at hospitals so far and four others were in serious conditions, he added.

The governor said they were trying to determine whether the explosion was caused by a central heating boiler.
