“He was admitted to the ICU of Aligarh Medical College Monday after he complained of a heart problem. However, the doctors declared him fit and he was sent to the Etah district jail earlier on Tuesday,” Superintendent of Police (Kanshi Ram Nagar) Luv Kumar told IANS.

Meanwhile, Etah jail police sources said that he was later shifted to Kanpur district jail as there was no cardiologist at the Etah government hospital to treat the legislator who repeatedly complained of heart disease.

Police arrested Pandit on Sunday from his Sector-53 residence in Noida on a complaint filed by the father of a woman in which he alleged that his daughter was raped by the legislator.

Dinesh Chand Birla, the father of the victim, in his complaint filed with Kasganj police station in Kanshi Ram Nagar district, alleged that the legislator had ‘married’ his daughter concealing the fact that he already had a wife and two kids.

A court in the district had sent the legislator to judicial custody for 11 days.

R.S. Rathore, who is investigating the case, interrogated Pandit on Monday before sending him to Aligarh. “However, Pandit maintained that he has been wrongly framed and does not know the complainant,” said Rathore.
