Pakistan frees India ‘spy’: official

Islamabad : Pakistani authorities on Tuesday freed an Indian ‘spy’ Ram Prakash, after ten years in jail, officials said.

Prakash was arrested from the border Pakistani city of Sialkot in Punjab in 1998 on the charges of spying.

He was handed down 10-year jail by a special court after espionage charges against him were proved, officials said.

Ram Prakash was freed from Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore after the interior ministry issued the orders of his release.

He would be handed over to Indian authorities through Wagha border later today.

Ram Prakash belongs to district Tawi of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
