Shimla : A court in Himachal Pradesh Friday reserved its judgement on the bail plea of a lawyer who is accused of murdering an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer in an apparent case of road rage.
District and sessions judge P.C. Sharma said he would rule July 24 on the bail plea of lawyer Hari Dass Tanwar, who is charged with murdering Flight Lieutenant Anubhav Rao, 24, on April 11 after an argument relating to overtaking on a hill road.
The hearing took place in Solan town.
The pilot’s father, Ram Kumar Yadav, a senior scientist at the Haryana Agricultural University in neighbouring Haryana’s Hissar town, has even written to President Pratibha Patil, the supreme commander of the armed forces, seeking justice for his slain son.
The dead pilot, who was posted at the IAF base at Ambala in Haryana, was visiting Himachal Pradesh with three friends. On the way to Kasauli, they got into a row with the lawyer over overtaking on the road.
Tanwar took out a sharp-edged weapon and allegedly stabbed Rao and his friend Sameer Yadav.
