Israeli Police seeking new testimonies in Olmert case — paper

Gaza : A former Likud activist is summoned to give a statement to the Israel Police in the investigation it is conducting in Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert corruption case, an Israeli paper said Wednesday.

Haaretz newspaper said that the activist Sharon Tzur, who was considered close to Olmert, lived in the United Stated and established a media corporation called Watch Media International that supports Israel and defends its points of view in the US media.

The Police is also asking for the testimony of another person in the US, political consultant Zev Furst, it added.

Olmert will be questioned by the police again next Friday, in his home in Jerusalem.

Jewish US businessman Morris Talansky admitted giving Olmert USD 150,000 in the past as support during the Likud Party elections.
