A man was killed by a shot in his head from a sniper, while a woman died from a heart attack when a shell hit her apartment, the report said.

In addition to the snipping fire, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and machine-guns were used in the clashes between Sunni neighborhoods of Bab Tabbaneh and the Baal Mohsen districts of Alawits, a small offshoot of Shiite Islam, in northern Lebanese city of Tripoli.

Clashes in the region in June left at least four killed and 40 others injured.

Lebanese army has been deployed in the region to separate fighters and contain the situation.

Over 70 people were killed in Beirut early May when pro-government and opposition supporters clashed for over a week, before Lebanese leaders reaching an agreement in Doha on May 21, banning the use of arms to settle political disputes.
