Beirut : Two people have been killed and more than 40 were wounded in the clashes that broke out Wednesday morning between supporters of the majority and opposition in Bab Al-Tabbanah and Jabal Mohsen districts, in the northern city of Tripoli.
Security sources said that a woman died of a heart attack after a bomb fell close to her.
Many of the wounded have been taken to hospitals for treatment, they added.
Fierce clashes are ongoing, with light and medium weapons, and missiles being used.
Snipers are targeting people along the highway linking Badawi and Tripoli Port, which was closed down by citizens to avoid more casualties.
