Iraq Base Suicide Attacks Kill 20

Baghdad : At least 20 deaths and 55 wounded were the toll of twin suicide attacks at a recruitment center on Al-Saad base in Baquba, east of Diyala, north Baghdad.

Medical and security sources said the two attackers detonated their vests packed with explosives at the Iraqi military base.

An Arab TV channel said a policeman died Monday when an unidentified man opened fire from his vehicle in Mosul, Ninewa, and drove away.

Iraqi security sources added that another seven people have died in Baghdad and Mosul in attacks by armed men while a bomb blast killed three people and left 14 wounded in the capital.

A group of unidentified people ambushed and kidnapped Monday two high-ranking Iraqi officers, one brigadier and one vice chief of intelligence on a road near al-Rashad neighborhood on Himreen Mountains, south of Kirkuk.

Officer Shwan Hama Gharib said the Army launched an immediate probe to locate the missing soldiers.
