Lucknow : Heavy rains will lash several districts in Uttar Pradesh in the next 48 hours, a met official said here Wednesday.
“As the monsoon has moved lower down the foothills of the Himalayas, heavy rains are expected in northern and eastern parts of the state,” state meteorological office director L.C. Ram told IANS.
Several districts, particularly Allahabad, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Balia, Rampur, Saharanpur and Bareilly are likely to witness heavy rains, he said.
A number of districts have reported good rainfall since Tuesday – Bahraich (33.2mm), Banda (37.2mm), Faizabad (65mm), Aligarh (47.6mm) and Mahoba (75.4mm). The state capital here recorded 14.0 mm of rain.
