Mumbai : Indian equity markets stayed in the green early Thursday afternoon, with buying interest in banking, capital goods and technology stocks.
At 1:00 p.m., the 30-share benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, was up by 464.48 points or 3.69 percent to 13,040.28. It had touched a high of 13,099.61 earlier.
At the same time the broader based S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange was up by 120.95 points to 3937.65.
The market breadth was positive. On BSE 1,525 shares advanced, 878 declined and 75 remained unchanged.
