Dubai : Pakistani cricketer Mohammad Asif has been held in custody at Dubai airport since Monday morning on a charge of carrying drugs, officials said here Tuesday.
Asif was returning to Pakistan from Mumbai via Dubai when he was held, the officials said. There were unconfirmed reports that he was allegedly carrying hashish.
The fast bowler, in the Delhi Daredevils team during the just-concluded Indian premier League (IPL), was in Mumbai for the semi-final match against Rajasthan Royals Friday.
