Tokyo : United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will pay a visit to Japan from June 28 to hold talks with Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
During his four-day stay, he will also participate in a town meeting at Kyoto University, western Japan, designed to address global warming.
Ban will have an audience with Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko on June 30, according to the ministry. It will be Ban’s first visit to Japan since assuming the post in January 2007.
