Bangkok : Two policemen were injured as insurgents triggered a roadside bomb on Tuesday in Thailand’s southernmost province of Pattani.
According to the report of The Nation news network, the police unit were on their way to camp after they escorted teachers to a school in Pattani’s Mayo district when the bomb was triggered by mobile phone signal on Tuesday morning.
Two policemen of the unit was severely injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital by a helicopter.
Thailand’s three southernmost provinces — Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani — have been troubled with insurgency-related violence which has claimed more than 3,000 lives since it resumed in early 2004.
