Thiruvananthapuram : Toonz Academy, one of the premier animation training institutes in Asia, inaugurated its animation training facilities in Ahmedabad and Indore.
In a press release issued here Wednesday, the institute said the opening of new centres was in line with the academy’s domestic expansion plans.
The new centres, along with its existing units in Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad and Nagpur, will offer 12-month advanced diploma in digital arts and animation course in addition to short-term courses.
More academies are planned this year in cities like Bangalore, Chennai and Coimbatore. The academy also plans to start a three-year degree course in animation by the next academic year.
Toonz Academy executive director Rama Prasad said the expansion drive reinforces the institute’s commitment to contributing well-trained professionals to the animation industry.
“Our close association with the production house, Toonz Animation, enables us to tailor the course curriculum with more industry insights, which in turn helps our students to explore lucrative careers with ease,” said Prasad.
The diploma is awarded in association with the prestigious European Carolus Magnus University, Belgium.
Toonz Academy was established in 2002 as an in-house training department of Toonz Animation.
It is a fully owned subsidiary of Toonz Entertainment Singapore, which also owns Toonz Animation, based at the Technopark campus here.
The academy, besides its domestic expansion, now plans to foray into China, the Middle East and Africa.
