Raul Castro Meets Namibia Lawmaker

Havana : Cuban President Raul Castro met with Namibian National Assembly leader Theo Ben Gurirab, who is officially visiting the island, Granma newspaper reported Thursday.

In the fraternal meeting, Gurirab highlighted tokens of solidarity existing between both peoples, built up in the struggle for the independence of Namibia and its continuity with hundreds of Cuban physicians and teachers working in African countries, the daily states.

Raul Castro and Gurirab, stresses the text, talked of the situation in their respective countries, the excellent bilateral links, as well as several regional and international affairs.

Cuban Peoples” Power National Assembly President Ricardo Alarcon, Namibian Deputy Tony Nambahu, and ambassador to Cuba Claudia Grace also attended the gathering.
