Shaista, who belongs to a Muslim middle class family, secured 97.6% in the examination. Daughter of Md Enamullah, former junior manager in the quality control department of Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC), Shaista wants to join National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) after completing a course in aeronautical engineering from a premier technical institute, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), of the country.

Shaista is a student of Dhurwa-based Kairali School. Her father is not very much surprised on her success because he was expecting this kind of result from her daughter since she had previously showed her extraordinary performance in education. She was all-India topper in FITT JEE test for scholarships and is getting benefit of free coaching for engineering preparations. She was also topper in the state in Maths Olympiads.

Shaista secured 99 marks in mathematics, 99 in science, 100 in social science, 92 in English and 98 in Sanskrit. A total of 117 students appeared from her school for 2008 examination.

Shaista, at 4th position among her five brothers and sisters, is very happy on her success and giving credit to her parents, brother Tabish Iman, a student of electronics and telecommunication engineering in Hyderabad, and her teachers.

Talking to TwoCircles.net (TCN), her mother was jubilant on her daughter’s success and talked about her firm determination and strong will power. She said sometimes she had to keep Shaista away from studies as she used to keep herself engaged in studies almost whole day.

Asked about her strategy of preparation she told TCN on phone that she used to read regularly 6-8 hours whole the year and had only one aim — to do the best on her fist step of education career.

While talking to TCN Shaista expressed a little bit disappointment on her total score which is 97.6%. She said she is not very much satisfied with the score in English. But overall she is very happy with her performance.

Shaista Sultana wants to do some quality research work by joining NASA or Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) to fulfill her dreams. Muslim girls also have potential to do something different but for this right goal and sincere effort are required, she said to TCN.
