Four LTTE cadres, three sailors killed in Northwest Sri Lanka clash

New Delhi : As many as three government sailors and four LTTE cadres were killed in an attack by the Tamil rebels on a Naval outpost in Northwest Sri Lanka Wednesday. “Four rebels of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) including their leader Sirimaran have been killed in the pre-dawn attack in Mannar,” Sri Lankan Defence Ministry said in a statement at Colombo. Three sailors were also killed in the battle, the Ministry said. Meanwhile in another incident, Sri Lanka Air Force helicopters attacked LTTE boats in the Gulf of Mannar this morning, the Ministry added.
