In spite of their constitutional right to establish and run the institutions of their choice –the right has been enshrined in articles 29 and 30 of the Constitution of India — minority educational institutions are deprived of facilities and their due constitutional and legal rights, said Karim in a press statement. He said there are a number of institutions that conform to all conditions and standards prescribed by government but government sanction is not available to them and the government machinery is creating new problems in approving and granting government sanction to these institutions.

He said these problems will be discussed in Minority Education Conference being organized on 21st June in Patna. The demands and recommendations of the conference concerning these issues will be placed before the authorities of the union government, he said. He said the purpose of the proposed conference is to show the authorities of the union and state governments the true picture of injustices and excesses against minority educational institutions.
