BPCL fourth quarter profit dips

Mumbai : State-owned Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd (BPCL) has posted a dip in its net profit for the fourth quarter of 2007-08 at Rs.584 million ($13.9 million), as compared to Rs.18 billion of the year-ago period.

The total Income for the quarter has increased to Rs.327.1 billion from Rs.244 billion of the same period of 2006-07.

BPCL has posted a net profit after tax of Rs.15.8 billion for the year ended March 31, 2008, compared to Rs.18 billion of the previous fiscal.

The total Income rose to Rs.1.12 trillion in fiscal 2008 from Rs.983.1 billion of fiscal 2007.

The board has declared a dividend of 40 percent at the rate of Rs.4 on shares with a face value of Rs.10 for 2007-08.
