Blast heard in NW Pakistan

Islamabad : A blast was heard Sunday night near a cinema in Mardan, a major city in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province (NWFP), according to local TV reports.

The police were quoted as saying that there have been no casualties from the explosion.

In another development, the private GEO TV quoted sources as saying that death toll has risen to 33 as clashes between two tribal groups enters the second day in Khyber Agency in northwestern Pakistan.

Both groups are using tanks, missiles, rockets and other automated weapons in fighting, according to the sources. People have started to flee from the fighting zone.

Tribal fighting has claimed more than 400 lives in Khyber Agency during the last two years.
