Reacting to media reports that Jogi has vowed to contest against the chief minister from any of the 90 assembly seats where Singh will be a candidate, Raman Singh said: “It will be an interesting battle.”

Singh, now touring the state’s northern region, told IANS: “It is up to my party to decide from which seat I have to contest. But it will be interesting if Jogi sticks to his announcement of contesting against me.”

The chief minister added: “The (Congress-led) central government has ditched the people. Inflation has surged to a record high. Let the elections come. Those challenging me are not aware about the people’s mood.”
