Tehran : A new petrochemical complex was officially inaugurated by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran’s western province of Kermanshah on Thursday, the official IRNA news agency reported.
The Kermanshah Petrochemical Complex is located at Bistoun, 30 km east of Kermanshah, the provincial capital, and is projected to produce over 660,000 tons of urea and 396,000 tons of ammonia annually, the IRNA said.
Ahmadinejad visited different sections of the complex after the inaugural ceremony.
According to the report, Minister of Welfare and Social Affairs Abdolreza Mesri, Oil Minister Gholam-Hossein Nozari and Vice President for Executive Affairs Ali Saeedlou as well as a number of provincial officials were present at the inaugural ceremony.
With an investment of 267.5 million euros (419.4 million U.S. dollars) plus 2.15 trillion rials (231.8 million U.S. dollars), the complex has created 700 job opportunities in the province, the IRNA said.
