“In the last 84 hours we have played 36 hours of cricket. It is not easy,” Dhoni said at the presentation ceremony when asked about India’s sloppy fielding.

India beat Bangladesh by seven wickets at their Super Four match here Saturday.

“It’s not only my team who are dropping catches. There is something in the ground, most teams are dropping catches on this ground. But It’s not easy when you have to play back to back games. It was a tough,” the skipper said when asked about dropped chances.

India played Hong Kong Wednesday and Pakistan Thursday before taking on Bangladesh.

India have been playing non-stop cricket for the past one year with little rest coming their way. This is the first time that the skipper admitted his team was tired.

Gautam Gambhir dropped two catches that of Tamim Iqbal, who struck 51 and Alok Kapali, who went on to score a century.

Dhoni praised Suresh Raina and Gambhir for their performance with the bat.

“Raina’s second century in the tournament is some achievement in itself and Gambhir was brilliant.”

He, however, said the fast bowlers needed to improve and learn to bowl in these conditions. India conceded 97 runs in the last 10 overs.
