Ramallah : Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian teenager in the northern West Bank town of Tobas on Sunday morning, Palestinian medics and witnesses said.
The witnesses said that Israeli soldiers killed 17-year-old Mohamed Nasser Daraghma, adding that they also detained another teenager who was with Daraghma at the time.
Palestinian security sources in Tobas said an Israeli army patrol was acting in the area to arrest Palestinian teens throwing stones at passing Israeli army vehicles throughout the town.
The sources said the soldiers killed the boy in cold blood, as they gunned him down from a short distance with eight shots while they could have just arrested him instead.
Daraghma, who is affiliated with President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement, was arrested at an Israeli army roadblock one year ago. He was sentenced to one year in prison.
Since a truce was reached between Israel and Gaza militant groups lead by Hamas movement in Gaza ten days ago, Israel has killed four Palestinians in the West Bank.
