Jeddah : The head of the Office of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Baghdad, Ambassador Hamid Eltinay, will be in Baghdad next week to open its resident office and assume his duties.
Opening the resident OIC office is in implementation of the OIC Council’s decision to support the stability, unity and sovereignty of Iraq.
It will work towards the national reconciliation efforts, ending sectarian violence based on the Mecca Document signed by prominent Iraqi scholars in 2007 under the auspices of the OIC, and helping in the humanitarian and reconstruction endeavours in Iraq, according to a latest press release of the OIC Sunday.
