Memon would be on bail till July 14, a Bench headed by Chief Justice of India KG Balakrish¬nan said, as it went through his medical report placed by the CBI and ordered his release. Senior advocate Harish Salve, appearing for Memon, submitted before the Bench that the medical report had con¬firmed that he had been suffering from schizophrenia and needed a supportive environment that could not be provided in jail. “Since 19¬92, he has been a patient of schizophrenia. He is not in a right state of mind, so he is entitled to be released on bail,” he argued. The CBI did not oppose his bail but sought review every three months.
