Ahmedabad : The Apparels Export Promotion Council (AEPC) for the first time will take part in the Interselection Fair to be held May 5 to May 7. AEPC will have ten booths in the fair to be held at Nordvillepente in Paris.
Euro Vet, a firm specialising in organising fashion exhibition, is hosting the fair.
Interselection exhibition is a global platform where buyers could purchase fashion textiles of quality and variety. It is an international event that promotes the textile industry, garments, accessories, handbags, shoes and jewellery to the world.
Interselection goes offers visitors every opportunity to discover everything about fashion trends.
The May carnival will focus on three sectors: Ready-to-wear, Organic textiles and accessories. About 1,000 collections in men, women and children apparels along with accessories will be on display.
During the three-day fair, there will be six catwalk shows with nearly 6,300 buyers from 56 countries. There will be a dominant presence of French specialist retail chains.
Interselection has more than 26 years experience and unique positioning in Europe. It provides a strategic response and boosts potential by optimising dialogue between exhibitors and retailers from Asia, Europe, North America and CIS countries.
India’s share in French import of readymade garments is 3.25 percent and export of readymade garments during 2006-2007 was $772 million. Readymade garments comprise trousers, blouse, T-shirts, shirts, jersey, pullover and cardigans for men and boys, waistcoats of cotton, knitwear’s, Skirts and divided skirts made of cotton and women’s wear.
According to council sources, the fair helps develop new customers, strengthen current business relations, analyse market needs and forge business partnerships.
Hi-profile buyers like Discounter-Hausmann of Austria, Herz Modern of Germany, AGC SA from Canada, Blend Warehouse of Britain, Unital of Italy, and La Maison Simons of USA are regulars at the fair.
AEPC has a busy calendar this year as it will take part in a number of fairs and exhibitions. Prominent among them are buyer seller meet in Motexha in Dubai from March 31 to April 2, two other similar meets in South Africa in April, followed by the Hong Kong fashion week in July and Magic fair in Las Vagas in the US and the Helsinki International Fashion fair in August.
