Bhopal : The Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta (ombudsman) has registered a complaint against the state’s Housing Minister Jayant Malaiya and three others for changing the Indore Master Plan, four days before its declaration, allegedly to benefit a builder.
Sources confirmed the complaint was registered Monday.
In a complaint lodged with ombudsman Ripusudan Dayal, Congress spokesperson K.K. Mishra said the joint director town and country planning had, apparently at the behest of Malaiya, changed the land use of a plot at Umaria village in Mhou tehsil of Indore district from agricultural to commercial.
While the land was defined as agricultural land in the previous master plan, it was changed to commercial (for bus stand) in the new master plan published on Dec 27, 2007.
He said the orders allegedly benefited builder Anand Goyal of M/s Divine Build Well Private Limited by more than Rs.250 million and Minister Jayant Malaiya, Principal Secretary Housing and Environment Devraj Birdi, Director Town and Country Planning Deepti Gaud Mukerjee and Joint Director Town and Country Planning Vijay Sanwalkar played a prominent role in it.
