Ranchi : After being denied a venue to hold a rally here, Bihar’s ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U) has now decided to shift its political rally planned this Sunday to Dhanbad.

JD-U has blamed the Madhu Koda government for deliberately denying the Morabadi ground of Ranchi as the venue for its rally.

The district administration denied the Morabadi ground on the plea that a cultural programme is taking place there March 3-19.

JD-U then sought the Jaipal Singh stadium or the HEC ground here. While permission to hold the rally at the Jaipal Singh stadium was denied as a business fair is going on there, the officials did not allow the rally at the HEC ground on the ground that it too close to the state assembly building, where the budget session is currently on.

“It was a deliberate move of the Madhu Koda government to deny a venue to our party to hold the rally. Railway Minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad is guiding Koda. Lalu Prasad is scared of the good governance of (chief minister) Nitish Kumar in Bihar,” said Jaleshwar Mahto, state president of JD-U.

“The rally will be attended by Nitish Kumar and this is the reason for denying a venue to the JD-U.”
