Kuala Lumpur : Iran’s prosecutor general said the United Nations has shown again its unjust and dual standard by issuing another resolution against Iran.
Qorbanali Dorri Najafabadi told reporters in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, “The UN Security Council is confronting with Iran only because of Iran’s peaceful use of nuclear energy.”
He added, “But the council has never imposed any kind of sanctions against Israel, who owns nuclear warheads.”
Najafabadi called the UNSC action as a cowardly measure against Iran and added, “I hope the UNSC abandons dual standard against countries and behave justly with all the UN members.”
He also appreciated Indonesian absentia vote in the UNSC meeting on Monday and expressed hope that mutual ties between the two countries develop more and more.
Head of Indonesian Islamic Organization of “Ulema Movement” Hashem Muzadi said in the press conference that the stance of Indonesia in the UNSC meeting on Monday has increased bargaining power of the country in the world and this stance indicated a kind of progress and we can call it an appropriate and timely action.” Iran’s prosecutor general heading a delegation is visiting Indonesia.
