Madrid : Several Spanish cities joined a worldwide march for the “victims of the paramilitary and State-ordered crimes committed in Colombia.”
In Madrid, the demonstration was held yesterday in the central Plaza de la Villa to pay homage to the victims of the paramilitary politics and to call for peace in Colombia with humanitarian agreements.
In declarations to the press, Cesar Carrillo, president of the International Assembly for Peace in Colombia denounced the government of president Alvaro Uribe because, he said, he tries to hide the crimes of genocide.
At the same time, he affirmed, there are more than 10 thousand persons disappeared at the hands of the paramilitary.
Similar protests were called in Barcelona, Bilbao, Valencia, Gijón, Salamanca, Palma de Majorca, Elche, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Vigo, among others.
