The secretariat of the Lebanese parliament issued a statement saying the parliament speaker postponed the session until March 25.

It is the 16th postponement since president Emile Lahoud ended his term in Nov. 24, 2007.

Lebanese members of parliament from both the ruling coalition and the opposition made statement Sunday, excepting another delay in the presidential election.

The new date set for the election session is four days prior the upcoming Arab summit to be held in Damascus on March 29-30.

Arab countries, mainly Saudi Arabia and Egypt, have set electing a new Lebanese president on March 11, as a precondition to attend the upcoming Damascus summit.
