London : Two people were trapped Tuesday when a ceiling collapsed at a mosque in south London, police said.
One man was rescued from the building in Balham, suffering from cuts and bruises.
But the emergency services were unable to free the second man, Scotland Yard said.
Police were alerted this morning to the incident.
London Ambulance Service said the air ambulance was on standby to take the trapped man to hospital.
The area is inhabited by ethnic communities including Bengalis and other parts of the Indian sub-continent.
The two men were not identified so far.
