Ninth seed Arjun registered a 1-up win against defending champion Ashok by winning 2, 4, 7, 8, 13, 16 and 18th hole. Ashok won the 1, 3, 5, 11, 12 and 14th hole but that was not enough.

“I think I played better in my quarterfinal match than the other rounds. In the pre-quarter I played four over on the front nine and came back with a four under on the back nine in the quarterfinal. I was far more steady with a two under on the front nine and one under on the back nine,” Arjun said.

Arjun will face Lam Chih Bing of Singapore in the semi-final. Bing recorded an emphatic 6 and 5 win over Manav Jani in the quarterfinals.

In another semi-final, seventh seed Shamim Khan will face Ali Sher.

Shamim defeated Vivek Bhandari 2 and 1 while Ali Sher outclassed C. Muniyappa 3 and 2.
