As pre-conditions to the bail, the four accused have to deposit Rs.200 million in favour of Priya in the court and submit their passports to the court.

Priya, a Dutch citizen, got married Jan 29 last year to Ajay Agarwal, son of Ram Kumar Agarwal. Last week, she registered a complaint with Band Garden police station, accusing Ajay, Ram Kumar and two other family members of physical and mental torture for dowry.

Priya also accused her father-in-law of trying to outrage her modesty and mother-in-law of misappropriating her diamond jewellery.

All the four family members were booked under sections of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

Last week, Agarwal was denied interim bail by additional sessions judge S.J Kale. He later moved a petition for anticipatory bail.

The parents of the couple are business partners. Priya is currently studying here for a management degree.

Additional public prosecutor Nilima Vartak, who is arguing the case on Priya’s behalf, told IANS, ” We will be chalking out our plans after we receive the report from the investigation officers.”
