Berlin : A leading Green lawmaker called for an end to the German government’s boycott of talks with the Palestinian Islamic Hamas resistance ahead of Chancellor Angela Merkel’s upcoming visit to Israel.
Speaking with Sunday’s edition of the Berlin-based Der Tagesspiegel, the whip of the Green faction, Fritz Kuhn said, “If one really wants peace, one has to talk with the radical Islamic Hamas organization.
“There is no alternative but negotiations through a stable ceasefire and improving the humanitarian and economic situation in the Gaza Strip.
He urged German foreign policy-makers to ‘give up their resistance against including Hamas’.
Under intense pressure from the criminal Zionist regime and its German lobby, Berlin has repeatedly refused to heed calls for a political dialogue with Hamas.
A staunch ally of the illegal Jewish state, the German government justified the recent mass killings of Palestinian civilians in Gaza by the Israeli military as ‘self-defense’.
German Foreign Ministry spokesman Martin Jaeger was quoted saying that Israel had the ‘right to protect itself against terrorist attacks’.
The Israeli military massacres of Palestinians, many of them women and children, sparked international outrage and condemnation.
