Madlasi and Hamad made the remarks separately upon their arrivals in Syria on the eve of the 20th Arab summit scheduled to be held here on March 29-30, according to Syria’s official SANA news agency.

“The Arabs are in need today for an active Arab solidarity to face problems encountering them… so we hope the Damascus summit will be a landmark to solve those problems,” Madlasi said in a statement upon his arrival.

Madlasi’s remarks was echoed by Hamad who said that “the Arab nation is passing through a dangerous and critical stage … The Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands, the Syrian Golan and the Shebaa farms in south Lebanon requires the Arab nations to boost solidarity.”

He expressed hope that the Arab summit could achieve its goals in boosting Arab solidarity and the Arab joint action.
