Jamnagar (Gujarat) : Two crooks and their men dug up bauxite ore worth nearly Rs.60 million from a Gujarat village and made good their escape.
Royalty inspector P.M. Sharma of Jamnagar’s geology department in a complaint filed at the Kalyanpur police station Wednesday evening charged that two men, Bhikhabhai Narayanbhai Chavda and Arjanbhai Jethabhai Chavda, had dug up 1,76,738.40 tonnes of bauxite ores from Virpar village of Kalyanpur block, 40 km from Jamnagar, without any lease agreement or
permission.
The cost of the ores pilfered has been estimated at Rs.58.32 million and the incident had occurred before Feb 14, 2008, according to the complaint.
