The spokesman told local radio that one of several missiles targeting Sderot actually hit the town, wounding two Israeli civilians, while others suffered from shock.
He blamed Islamic Jihad for these attacks.

The radio quoted Israeli officials as saying that Hamas had in the past proven its ability to put an end to attacks from Gaza at Israel.

Meanwhile, Saladin Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees, claimed responsibility for launching two “Nasser III” missiles at a kibbutz to the east of Khan Younes, eastern Gaza.

It said this attack was in retaliation for Israeli’s assassination and arrests in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Earlier today, Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Islamic Jihad, said it fired two Quds missiles at the southern Israeli town of Ashkelon, adding that it launched some 30 missiles at a number of Jewish towns after midnight.

The military wings of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Fatah also claimed responsibility for firing mortar shells at an Israeli military zone.
