Pakistan’s new PM gets vote of confidence in parliament

Islamabad, Pakistan : Pakistan’s new prime minister has won the unanimous backing of parliament, including the allies of its U.S.-backed president.

The legislature passed a motion expressing confidence in Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday without holding a vote after opposition parties pledged their support.

Lawmakers elected Gilani as prime minister earlier this week.
