The official in charge of the press section of Iran’s Embassy to Baku Majid Feyzollahi told IRNA Wednesday, “Release of such reports by some sections of Azeri press and media is against realities and untrue.”

Feyzollahi said Iranian ambassador’s meeting with Azeri deputy foreign ministry Araz Azimov had been ordinary and based on a pre-set schedule and any report that he had been invited or summoned by the Azeri official is untrue.

The two sides in the meeting discussed issues of mutual interest, including confiscation of a Russian shipment to Iran and the Azeri party offered necessary explanation to the Iranian diplomat, vowing to probe into the issue as soon as possible.

Some Baku press on Wednesday wrote that Iran’s ambassador to Baku had been summoned to Azeri foreign ministry in connection with confiscation of a Russian shipment to Bushehr power plant by Azeri border and customs guards on Astara border region.
