First constituency was represented by 35 MPs since 1981

Kuwait : The first constituency was represented by 35 Members of Parliament (PMs) from 1981 to the council of 2006.

The constituency, which includes the first, fourth, eighth, 12th, and 13th electoral districts according to the previous 25-district system, was mostly represented by Adnan Abdulsamad, Salem Al-Hammad, and Abdullah Al-Roomi, who won the parliamentary elections five times.

Hasan Jawhar represented the constituency in four legislative terms, while Nasser Sarkho, Abdulmohsen Al-Modeij, Hussein Al-Qallaf, Ahmad Al-Mulaifi, Mukhlid Al-Azmi, Salah Khorshid, and Saleh Aashour represented it three times.

Former MPs Khalid Al-Jumyaan, Yaqoub Hayati, Ahmad Al-Rubie, Abbas Al-Khuthari, Jamal Al-Kandiri, and Abdulwahid Al-Awadhi represented the constituency three times, whereas it was represented one by Faisal Al-Githeebi, Bader Al-Muthaf, Ahmad Al-Tukhaim, Isa Al-Mizeedi, Morthi Al-Ethyna, Khalid Al-Wasmi, Nasser Al-Roudhan, Abdullah Al-Nifeesi, Rashid Al-Juwaisri, Ali Al-Baghli, Ismail Al-Shatti, Homoud Al-Rquba, Jassem Al-Mudhaf, Abdulmohsen Jamal, Yousef Al-Zilzila, Ahmad Lari, Hussain Al-Huraiti, and Ahmad Al-Shuhomi.

The constituency had the highest number of MPs who were assigned as ministers since 1981, 10 out of 22 elected ministers.

In 1981, Isa Al-Mizeedi from the eighth constituency became the Minister of Communications and in 1985 Khalid Al-Jumyaan from the first constituency became Minister of Social Affairs and Labor.

In 1992, Ahmad Al-Rubie from the eighth constituency was assigned as the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Ali Al-Baghli from the fourth constituency was assigned Oil Minister.

When Al-Baghli resigned, Abdulmohsen Al-Modeij from the 12th constituency became the new Oil minister.

Jassem Al-Mudhaf from the fourth constituency became Commerce and Industry Minister in 1996, while Homoud Al-Rquba from the first constituency became Electricity and Water Minister and Public Works Minister in 1998.

In 2001, Salah Khorshid from the 13th constituency became Commerce and Industry Minister, whereas Yousef Al-Zilzila from the first constituency became minister of the same ministry in 2006.

Abdulwahid Al-Awadhi from the fourth constituency became Minister of State for Housing Affairs in 2007 and after the Cabinet reshuffle in June 2007 he was also assigned as Communications Minister and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs.

After the October 2007 Cabinet shuffle, Al-Awadhi became Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs.
