Kuwait : Five candidates withdrew on Sunday from the May 17 parliament elections, bringing the total number of candidates racing for the 50-member house to 380 nominees, the department of elections affairs in the Ministry of Interior stated here Thursday.
Ahmad Musad Ahmad Al-Mideaj and Abdulaziz Makki Husain Jomea withdrew from the first constituency, while Jaed Abdullah Jaed Sroor Al-Mutairi and Yousef Slaiman Hedaiban Awwad Al-Reshidi withdrew from the fourth constituency, and Obaid Suad Al-Otaibi pulled out from the fifth.
The deadline for the candidates’ withdrawal from the competitions is scheduled for the 9th of May.
