Anjuman Taraqui Urdu Bihar welcomes Shahid Ali Khan as Bihar minister

Patna: Anjuman Taraqui Urdu Bihar threw a reception for newly induced state cabinet minister Shahid Ali Khan in Patna on 5th May.

Addressing the gathering, Khan, who is Minister of Science & Technology and Minister for Minority Affairs (additional charge), emphasized on removal of inferiority complex from the minority community, particulary its youth. He said this was necessary for the development and uplift of minorities. “We should consider Urdu equal to other languages and only by this way its promotion is possible,” he said.

Khan also stressed the need of unity in the Muslim community and asked its youth to set big goals and put sincere effort to achieve them.

At the end of the programme, several people were awarded for their extraordinary services in the field of Urdu language and literature and journalism. Students of Raza High School and Ayyub Urdu Girls High School were also awarded for outstanding performance in annual board examination conducted by Bihar School Examination Board in 2007. Those who have passed diploma course of 2006-07 session in Urdu language run by National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language were also awarded. Anjuman awarded Hindu students who successfully completed Urdu learning course of 15 days duration.

Those present on the occasion included Izharul Haque Siddiqui, president, Anjuman Taraqui Urdu Bihar and Maulana Abdul Kalam Quasmi, Principal Madrasa Shamsul Hoda.
