Kuwait : Respect for the state and its regulations and institutions should be observed by all Kuwaitis, a parliamentary candidate said.
Khalaf Al-Dumaitheer, addressing his last night’s electoral campaign rally in Al-Sulaibikhat, said any insult or degredation of a civil servant or official constitute an offense against the state.
Al-Dumaitheer, a candidate for the second constituency, said the national assemblies, since 1992, have not realised aspirations of the Kuwaiti people as a result of misunderstanding of the concept of democracy, adding that the dissolution of parliaments in the past was the result of attitudes by some MPs.
Some seek to create problems, foment discords and aggravate conflicts between the legislative and executive authorities, he said, affirming that indescent and injuring remarks do not serve democracy.
The nominee said that, once elected as member of the assembly, he would spearhead a campaign for cancelling interests on the citizens’ loans and reschedule the debts to 20 years.
This constituency comprises 13 residential districts with an electorate of 41,365 people, including 19,262 women.
