Geneva : The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said Thursday that it was seeking from donors USD 8.2 million to assist women and children survivors from Cyclone Nargas that hit Myanmar on May 2-3.
UNICEF Deputy Director for Emergencies Pierrette Vu Thi told reporters that more “tragedies are to be discovered in the coming days.” She added that her organization has pre-positioned emergency supplies for some 155,000 people.
